The Civil Aeronautics of Colombia reported, on Tuesday (14), that in the morning there was a strong explosion in an area close to Camilo Daza airport, in the city of Cúcuta.
“We repudiate the cowardly terrorist attack that took place in the city of Cúcuta. With the Ministry of Defense, the Military Summit, the Colombian Army and the Colombian Police, we coordinate immediate actions to locate those responsible for this attack,” President Iván Duque posted on Twitter.
“According to established protocols, operations at that air terminal were suspended while the competent authorities determine what happened,” the Colombian civil aviation agency said in a statement.
They added that they will report on the resumption of operations depending on how events unfold. Finally, travelers with flights scheduled at that airport were recommended to maintain constant communication with the airlines.
