The Paraná Civil Police (PCPR), in conjunction with the Federal Police (PF), arrested, this Wednesday (9), a man suspected of committing sexual abuse against more than 300 children and adolescents.
Police reported that they held a 26-year-old psychology student during the Prius Praesidium operation in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, in western Paraná.
During the action, a search and seizure warrant was also executed. More than 1,700 child pornography files were also located after due diligence. Of those, police indicated that around 350 were produced by the suspect.
The student was charged with the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person, rape of a virtual vulnerable person, production, storage and sharing of child pornography and enticing a child to commit lewd acts.
PCPR delegate José Barreto told the CNN that the operation is complex and the arrest took place after extensive monitoring of social networks.
“This is a complex investigation carried out by the Civil Police of the State of Paraná together with the Federal Police in which it was identified, through monitoring there on social networks, as well as technological tools used, that a user was storing a large amount of media involving sexual and child exploitation, including photos and videos,” he said.
“It was found that he would have claimed more than 300 victims, he enticed these children to practice libidinous acts, made video calls, which affects the crime of rape of a vulnerable person in the virtual modality. Furthermore, he allegedly physically abused a child. There is the rape of a vulnerable person in the physical modality as well, as well as the crime of enticement”, he added.
