Student Prison and Palestinian activist is “first of many,” says Trump

United States President Donald Trump said on Monday that the arrest of a Palestinian graduate student who helped lead pro-Palestinos protests at New York Columbia University was the “first of many.”

“This is the first arrest of many to come. We know that there are more students in Columbia and other universities across the country who have been involved in pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic and anti-American activities, and Trump administration will not tolerate it. Many are not students, they are paid agitators. We will find, apprehend and deport these terrorist supporters of our country – never to return, ”Trump wrote in a publication on the Social Truth.

Mahmoud Khalil was arrested on Saturday night by federal immigration authorities who said they were acting under a state department order to revoke their Green Card, according to his lawyer.

Khalil was at the forefront of the Antiguerra Movement led by students at Columbia University last year. He was among those investigated by a new university committee that presented disciplinary accusations against dozens of students for his pro-passage activism, according to the Associated Press.
