Warning signs about the impact of climate change on the Arctic have intensified over the past 40 years, and many of the areas with the fastest and most extreme changes are in Siberia, Alaska and Canada’s Northwest Territories. This is according to research published in the journal “Geophysical Research Letters”. To identify these areas a team of researchers used more than 30 years of geospatial data and temperature records. He defined indicators of ecosystem vulnerability in three categories: temperature, humidity and vegetation.
