The singer from Bahia, 51, who reached the pantheon of success as the lead singer of the axé group, stated that she was grateful for the achievements arising from her work in the band, however, she recognized that the busy schedule of shows had a negative impact on her health.
In an exclusive interview with 'Vogue' magazine to mark her 30-year career, the star reflected on the beginning of her musical journey.
“I had no idea what that was, but I was very excited because I saw the possibility of having a profession, earning a salary. It was small at the time, but very worthy. I was still a green singer, with no experience, and I threw myself into it. It was within Banda Eva that I understood that something was happening differently, outside the script. I started to gain my first fans, to understand the dynamics of a show and what a musical direction was. I already had a relationship with that at home, and I started to understand the nomenclature of what I was experiencing”, she explained.
“I saw Banda Eva as an opportunity. So, I didn't feel able to complain. I was a singer, I had my job, and succumbing was not an option,” she added.
Ivete started the commemorative tour 'Ivete 3.0', at Maracanã, on the 20th.
When announcing the series of shows, the artist declared: “Ivete 3.0 is the confirmation of everything I dreamed of for myself and was given to me. And of everything I have dreamed of for the future and that I will have. Joy, music, lots of emotion, lots of memories and a delightful audience accompanying me on this journey.”
