The Sudanese army on Sunday accused the Ethiopian armed forces of executing seven Sudanese soldiers and a civilian holding prisoners.
He also complained that Ethiopian forces had publicly displayed the bodies of those executed, adding that there would be an “appropriate response”.
“This fraudulent act will not go unanswered,” he insisted.
There has been no reaction from Addis Ababa.
Tensions between Sudan and Ethiopia have escalated in recent years due to the diffusion of the conflict in Tigray into Sudanese territory and the construction of a giant hydroelectric dam by the Ethiopian authorities on the Nile.
Tens of thousands of refugees have sought refuge in eastern Sudan. There have also been clashes in an area where the two sides are claiming dominance over arable land on the border.
