Analysts of the Russian retailer M.Video-Eldorado shared interesting statistics on the Russian smartphone market for the past first quarter of 2021.
As it turned out, flagship smartphones costing more than 50 thousand rubles are of increased interest among Russians, the demand for such devices increased by 70% in piece terms – to about 1 million smartphones and by 85% in monetary terms – to 75 billion rubles compared to the first quarter last year.
For the first time, flagship models occupied about 50% of the sales of the Russian smartphone market in monetary terms, the iPhone 11 line became the bestseller at the end of January-March 2021. Analysts clarify that the iPhone 11 from Apple turned out to be the best-selling line of smartphones, taking into account models with all memory capacities , in second place – inexpensive Samsung Galaxy A12, in third – quite budget Redmi 9A.
Overall, Samsung became the most popular smartphone manufacturer in the first quarter. The Chinese brand Xiaomi moved up one line compared to last year and took second place. Apple also moved up one position in the ranking. The fourth and fifth lines were taken by Honor and Huawei, respectively. In terms of revenue, Apple continues to lead confidently.
The smartphone market in Russia in the first quarter of 2021 added more than 20%, reaching about 155 billion rubles. More than 6.5 million devices were sold in January-March.
