Efforts to dismantle the giant container ship that has been blocking the Suez Canal for four days, stopped late Friday night and will resume early today Saturday, reported three sources of the Canal authorities.
The last attempt to detach Ever Given started earlier yesterday, Friday after dredging to remove 20,000 cubic meters of sand from the bulbous bow of the ship.
The incident, which happened on Tuesday, has caused huge congestion with dozens of ships waiting stranded at both ends of the canal as well as in the waiting area in the center of the Canal, as well as significant delays in the delivery of oil and other products.
