A lawyer who defended the surgeon who was described as the “worst pedophile in France” committed suicide, as announced Wednesday by the prosecutor. Maxim Tesie, 34, represented 74 -year -old Joel Le Scarnek, who confessed to his trial that he had sexually abused or raped 298 patients between 1989 and 2014, many of whom were children. Western French prosecutor Renn, Frederick Tayie, said of the lawyer’s death: “Everything shows that this is a suicide,” adding that he has begun investigating. His associate, Katrin Glon, said that Tesie, the father of two young children, “had a very high appreciation for justice and was therefore very demanding with himself.” “We are obviously overwhelmed,” he added.
