Summer started this Tuesday (21), but the weather will not be entirely sunny, says Carine Gama, meteorologist at Climatempo, in an interview with CNN. “The time of year will be marked by the La Niña phenomenon, which will influence the occurrence of rain storms in the coming months.” Even so, rainfall in the center-south regions of the country will be below average.
The specialist highlighted that most of the season should be marked by temperatures within the average, “only the Midwest will have a slight elevation”.
“The southern region should find a drier temperature throughout the summer,” stated the Specialist. Yesterday afternoon (20), some cities reached 39 degrees.
Gama points out that there will be heavy rain in Bahia, while the coast of Sergipe and Maranhão will have a milder temperature. “Those who are on the coast of Bahia must face heavy rains and massive skies between the night and dawn”, says the specialist.
Temperatures will be similar to the summer of 2020.
“Next Wednesday (22), there will be low atmospheric pressure on the southeast coast, which will give rise to a cold front”, explains Gama. “While in the eastern range of Brazil there will be very strong storms, like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which will have gales and thunderstorms”.
On Christmas Eve, “there will be rain in the Center and North of Minas Gerais, in addition to Bahia, Espírito Santo and regions in the Northeast, mainly Goiás and Mato Grosso”, says the specialist. “In Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná they will have warmer temperatures”.
And, on New Year, as it is 10 days from now, Gama declares that the temperature can change as New Year’s Eve approaches. Anyway, for now, the forecast is that in Bahia there will still be strong storms, while in the southern region of Maranhão and Piauí there will be milder rains.
“In Ceará and Sergipe, temperatures will be firmer, and there may be heavy rainfall,” he says. And in the capital of São Paulo and in the city of Rio de Janeiro, on the afternoon of the 31st there will be rain, but it shouldn’t be constant, “that way, not affecting the New Year’s parties”, comments the meteorologist.
