The President of Honduras, Siomara Castro, has decided to send her Foreign Minister, Eduardo Enrique Reina, to the US Summit, which begins tomorrow, Monday, June 6, and will last until Friday, June 10. in Los Angeles, USA, the Central American government announced yesterday, Saturday.
Several heads of state and government in the region, notably Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, have said they intend not to attend the summit unless the leaders of all the continent are present.
Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua were pressed to be invited, but Washington had virtually ruled them out, arguing that their governments “did not respect” democratic principles.
