The suspension of sunbathing and visits by family and lawyers to Brazil's five federal prisons ends this Friday (16) and will not be extended, according to members of the Federal Penitentiary System (SPF).
As a result, educational activities, such as reading books, work and religious activities, as well as circulation in restricted facilities, must also be resumed from Saturday morning (17).
“The objective of suspending the procedures was to channel all the staff’s energy into general searches of the units. Two days are more than enough for this,” he told CNN a member of the SPF leadership.
Yesterday, the CNN revealed that the deputy director of the SPF, Renato Vaz, ordered the use of level 2 security in Brazil's five federal penitentiaries following the unprecedented escape of two prisoners from the prison in Mossoró (RN).
The measure published at the end of the day on Wednesday (14) serves as a fine-tooth comb, to be carried out until this Friday (16) in Catanduvas (PR), Brasília (DF), Porto Velho (RO), Campo Grande (MS), in addition to the unit that recorded the escape.
The fugitives were identified as Rogério da Silva Mendonça, alias Querubim, Chapa, Cabeça de Martelo or Martelo; and Deibson Cabral Nascimento, known as Tatu, Deisinho or Deicinho.
