Apple has transparently hinted that tomorrow, 2 hours after the opening of the World Conference for Developers WWDC 2021, another event will take place – the launch of Spatial Audio technology in the Apple Music streaming service.
This is reported in a video posted on Apple Music. Apple previously mentioned plans to launch Spatial Audio during June.
Apple revealed that Spatial Audio is based on Dolby Atmos and will be available to all Apple Music subscribers in June, in addition to high-quality, lossless audio streaming – without any loss of quality.
By default, Dolby Atmos-enabled tracks in Apple Music will automatically play on all AirPods and Beats with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as the built-in speakers of the latest iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple Music will gradually add new Dolby Atmos tracks and a dedicated set of Dolby Atmos playlists. In addition, albums available in Dolby Atmos format will have a special badge.
