Superluna dei Fiori, the largest of the year: the photos are beautiful

It was the Algonquin tribe who called it the Flower Moon. Now we also call it super, which is not a scientific term, but indicates the full moon closest to the Earth, which appears to be a little larger in the sky. During the night the show was exhilarating in the skies all over the world. It was a double show in Australia and New Zealand, from where there was also the total eclipse of Luna.

In Italy from dusk to dawn the show was splendid as shown by the photos of Rome that are in the gallery above.

That of May 26 was the third Superluna of the year, but the largest. It passed only 357,462 km from our planet. The Moon appeared a little larger, 10-12%, than normal and its brightness is greater, 16% more. The Superluna of May arrives one month after that of April 26th.

The sky holds other surprises for the rest of the year. June 10 will be the turn of the annular eclipse of Sole, visible only from Russia, Greenland and Northern Canada. On the evening of July 13, however, it will be possible to easily observe the conjunction of Mars and Venus, both bright in the summer sky, and on July 18 that of Mars and Mercury. In August the shooting stars and on the 22nd the third full Moon of the four expected in the summer.

November 19 will be the turn of an eclipse partial moon very deep, to the point of appearing almost total. Finally, a total eclipse of the Sun on December 4, visible only from Africa.
