Former minister Aloizio Mercadante (PT) countered, by e-mail, the apology of councilman Eduardo Suplicy, also sent by e-mail, which interrupted the launch of the guidelines of the Lula-Alckmin ticket’s government program with complaints about the document.
In the reply addressed to the former senator, Mercadante showed that he was upset with Suplicy’s attitude. In the text, Lula’s former minister called the PT councilor’s demonstration disrespectful and aggressive.
In the episode, Eduardo Suplicy complained of not having been invited to that meeting nor of having had it contemplated in the proposed guidelines, of basic income and citizenship, of his authorship, which according to Aloizio Mercadante, appears in the document.
“[Sua atitude] also brought two wrongful accusations, which need to be redressed. The first is that the citizen’s basic income would not be included in the government program’s guidelines. Is not true. The theme is in item 20 of the document for development. It would have been enough for you to have read it before or asked any member of the coordination”, he said in the email.
Mercadante also says that there is injustice in another speech by Suplicy on the occasion, which signaled Mercadante’s boycott of his name. The former minister said that the event team avoided inviting parliamentarians to avoid different treatment.
“There have been many public expressions of recognition and affection for you throughout my life, a person I have always classified as sincere, honest, generous, respectful and courteous”, he continued.
The message ends with Mercadante’s understanding that the apology should, according to him, be made publicly and transparently.
“This gesture of greatness should be addressed to everyone who contributed to the construction of the government program, to the parties, to our fierce and passionate militancy and to our leaders Lula and Alckmin”, he concludes.
THE CNN reached out to Suplicy to comment on the case, but still got no response.
