Pedro Sanchez expressed his country’s undivided support to Serbia on the Kosovo issue. During his meeting in Belgrade with Aleksandar Vucic pointed out that “the bonds of friendship between Spain and Serbia are based on the common position on the need to respect international law and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two countries.”
The Spanish prime minister assured that Madrid is not going to revise its stance on Kosovo. “We support Serbia on the issue of Kosovo. Spain has been and will always be on Serbia’s side in defense of the principles and will always support the dialogue between the two sides” Sanchez pointed out.
THE Pedro Sanchez embarked from Belgrade on a four-day tour of the Western Balkans during which he will also visit Sarajevo, Podgorica, Skopje and Tirana. Pristina is not included in Sanchez’s visiting stations and this is because Spain avoids any relationship with Kosovo, since it does not accept its secession from Serbia and does not recognize his independence.
The Spanish Prime Minister announced from Belgrade that the purpose of his tour is to encourage the European integration of the Western Balkans and to assure the peoples of the countries of the region that Europe has not forgotten them.
