Surplus in the account of renewable sources for 2022

Estimates for the surplus of the Special Account for financing of renewable sources amounting to 2.3 billion at the end of the year include the last bulletin of the Renewable Resources Manager (DAPEEP) for the first months of the year.

“The particularly positive image presented by ELAPE allows the significant strengthening of the Energy Transition Fund, a key pillar of support for citizens and businesses to deal with the energy crisis and rising energy prices,” said in a statement the chairman and CEO of Administrator Giannis Giarentis adds: “The enhanced course of ELAPE is due to the increased revenues that arise for RES producers through their participation in the energy markets. RES, through the distribution of ELAPE surpluses to TEM but also their daily participation in the energy mix “create conditions for significant reductions in energy costs on a daily basis, confirming that they operate solely for the benefit of citizens and the market.”

It is also noted that the evolution of the penetration of RES in the country shows that in September of this year we will exceed the barrier of 10GWh, when in 2019 the penetration was at 6.5 GWh.
