The Competition Commission, following its actions in key sectors of the economy and in the context of the effective application of competition rules in the agricultural sector, carried out on 14.12.2021 a surprise on-site inspection of a company in the context of ex-officio research in the seed markets sunflower, cotton and maize, as well as in the markets for crop protection products.
This surprise check is a preliminary step in EA’s research to identify anti-competitive practices.
It should be noted that conducting such audits does not prejudge that companies or associations of undertakings have engaged in anti-competitive conduct nor does it prejudge the outcome of the investigation.
