Susana Vieira recalls death in soap opera: “It’s the public who loses”

Susana Vieira 81, gave an interview to “Fantastic” on Sunday night (19), in which he complained about his character in “Land and Passion” Cândida, having died right at the beginning of the plot.

With more than 50 years of career, after working in “We were six” in 2019, the actress returned to the small screen last year, in a special appearance in the soap opera written by Walcyr Carrasco .

Owner of a brothel, the character ended up passing away and leaving behind many mysteries about the life of Caio, protagonist of Cauã Reymond.

“I couldn’t die at all. I died so angry. I am unable, I think it's silly to kill myself in a soap opera . The public loses out,” said Susana.

When talking about the inspiration for her work, the artist stated that she takes her personal life as a basis. “There’s something spiritual that I think gets inside me and makes me play these characters.”

“I can put aside the sadness of my personal life, of marriages often not working out or having illnesses… I can be happy, because here I am alive, more alive than ever, in a studio”, she added.

Questioned by Poliana Abritta considered himself Maria do Carmo paper in “Lady of destination” (2004), the biggest character of her career, the veteran agreed and even revealed that the initial idea was for her to play the village Nazareth.

“I would never do the same [à Renata Sorrah ]”, admitted the actress, recognizing the work of her co-star. Susana participated in the program to publicize her biography, entitled “Susana Vieira: Lady of My Destiny” which also follows the history of television drama in Brazil.
