Yesterday, March 30, a virtual meeting of the DEX SushiSwap community members took place. Among other things, the “chef” of the project Jared Gray commented the situation with the lawsuit and spoke about his attitude to this situation.
On March 21, the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) filed a lawsuit against DAO SushiSwap and Gray personally. To solve the situation, the head of the project suggested creating a “Legal Protection Fund” with a budget of $4 million.
This amount is equal to the organization’s annual operating expenses. The initiative was criticized in the community, which became a real “stumbling block” among the participants.
During the conversation on Discord, Gray was asked to talk about the progress of the proceedings. He said that lawyers advised him to keep everything a secret, so he does not intend to disclose any details about the lawsuit.
But one thing is clear – the lawsuit will be costly and difficult. At the moment, about a third of the DAO members oppose the creation of the fund. And although this topic was not raised during the conversation, some users even demand Gray’s resignation.
As for the mood of the “chef”, he, apparently, has lost his former fuse. This is how, for example, he commented on the news that Elizabeth Warren is gathering an army of anti-cryptocurrency opponents:
