Suspect is arrested for applying scams on taxi drivers at Congonhas Airport

A 42-year-old man was arrested on Monday afternoon (5), suspected of committing Roads against taxi drivers at Congonhas Airport in the south of São Paulo.

He was identified by a group of drivers in the central lobby, which surrounded him and triggered a team of the nearby traffic policing battalion, leading the occurrence to the police station.

According to the Military Police, three victims attended and reported that “the criminal used to request taxi races, identifying himself as a lawyer.” During the race, he requested a stop at a bank branch and at that place threatened and withdrawn from the victims’ accounts.

The case was registered by the 2nd Tourist Care Police Station (Deatur). Police also reported that the man stole and used credit cards in shopping mall stores and carried out transactions through bank applications.

According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), one of the victims who attended the unit recognized the individual as the perpetrator of a crime committed in 2022. In addition, the man already had stolen, lightning and estelionato stalk in Rio de Janeiro.
