Suspect of collecting loan shark debts is arrested in Bahia

A man suspected of being responsible for collecting debts related to the loan sharking and gambling practices of a criminal organization was arrested, this Sunday (1st), in Feira de Santana, a city about 100 km from Salvador.

According to the Federal Police, he was the target of Operation El Patrón, which is investigating the state deputy known as Binho Galinha and three other military police officers on suspicion of forming a militia group.

On the run for a year, the man was arrested during a Military Police raid. He even tried to escape on foot, but was caught.

Also according to the PF, the suspect is identified as one of the main members of the group, being one of the closest to the leader of the criminal organization, which specializes in laundering capital from illicit activities such as gambling, loan sharking, extortion and qualified reception.

Investigations continue to further dismantle criminal activities and arrest others involved in the scheme.
