The State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) announced this Thursday (10) the arrest of a man suspected of participating in a bank fraud which involved the theft of R$ 200 thousand from the soccer player Neymar Jr.who plays for the Brazilian national team and the French team Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Deic, the suspect is 20 years old and is an administrative assistant. He is named as an operator in a scheme to steal money from bank accounts. The arrest took place on Wednesday (9) in the East Zone of São Paulo.
The police are still investigating the participation of other individuals in the scams, whose total value subtracted was not reported. The arrest was carried out by police officers from the 5th Precinct of Investigations on Robbery banksand the scheme had been under investigation for two months.
According to the investigation, the detained suspect was hired by an outsourced company to develop and provide services to clients of a financial institution. During the activities, he had access to the bank’s customers’ passwords, and began to divert the money.
