Suspect of killing Denarc investigator during robbery in the West Zone of SP is arrested

The suspect of killing an investigator from the State Department of Narcotics Prevention and Repression (Denarc) was arrested by the Civil Police on Monday (19), in the south zone of the capital of São Paulo.

The 28-year-old man was captured by Cerco police officers when he handed himself in at the police station. The Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, confirmed the information this Tuesday (20). He was taken to the 8th DP (Belenzinho) and will undergo a custody hearing.

In addition to robbery, he was also wanted for robbery.

Paulo Enrique da Silva, aged 45, worked in the Narcotics Investigation Department (Denarc) and was killed after a robbery on the 6th. He was approached while he was on his motorbike, in front of the São Camilo Hospital, in Pompeia, west zone from Sao Paulo. He was rescued, but he didn't survive.

The man announced the robbery and got into a physical fight with the investigator, who was shot shortly after falling to the ground.

After the shots, the perpetrator fled, taking the victim's cell phone and gun.

The suspect specializes in stealing cell phones and, during the robbery, demanded the victim's banking app password to make bank transfers. He remains at large.

The suspect's wife had been arrested on February 10, at the couple's residence, in the north of the capital.

She had already been convicted of two other crimes: qualified theft and criminal association. The agents executed an arrest warrant issued in 2022 against the woman, who is 28 years old.

In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) said that the woman's participation in the case will be investigated.

According to the PM, the woman, from a distance, supported the crime.

The case was registered at the 3rd Specialized Center for the Repression of Crimes and Miscellaneous Occurrences (Siege) as the capture of a wanted person.
