Police officers from the Robbery and Cargo Theft Police Station arrested last Wednesday (13) a man involved in the robbery of expert Denise Machado Jana, who died in April 2023 on Linha Vermelha, near Duque de Caxias.
The investigations led to the criminal based on evidence obtained in the second phase of Operation Tourniquet, which combats theft, theft and reception of cargo and vehicles.
According to the Civil Police, the criminal was located in the Beira-Rio community, also in Duque de Caxias. He was being monitored by the police station team, which was investigating his involvement in cargo and vehicle thefts in the Jardim América region.
Remember the case
The Civil Police expert, Denise Machado Jana, was traveling along the Red Line, accompanied by her son, when she was approached by the criminal and an accomplice. Both were armed with pistols. The expert tried to react to the assault but was shot 12 times. After the execution, the criminals stole his weapon and fled.
The son then tried to help his mother, but the expert ended up not being able to resist her injuries and died.
