The suspect in the murder of Russian general Igor Kirillov was accused of an act of terrorism resulting in the death of a person, according to a statement on the Moscow court website this Thursday (19).
Furthermore, the court ordered that he be sent to preventive detention for a period of two months, according to information on the Telegram channel.
Russia announced on Wednesday (18) that it had detained a man from Uzbekistan, who allegedly confessed to having planted and detonated a bomb that killed Kirillov on instructions from Ukraine’s SBU security service.
The general was head of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops.
Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed by an explosive device planted on an electric scooter, according to the Russian investigative committee.
In the video showing the explosion, two men can be seen leaving a residential building, with one of them carrying what appears to be a box in one hand and a briefcase in the other.
