Suspect of nightclub shooting in the interior of Minas Gerais is arrested by police

The suspect in a nightclub shooting was arrested by the Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) in Paracatu, in the northwest region of the state.

The 27-year-old man was arrested preventively. He is suspected of involvement in the shooting that left two people, who were not targets, seriously injured.

The case occurred on April 14 of this year.

According to the delegate responsible for the investigation, Maxwell Gomes, on the day of the shooting, in a nightclub, a man who had no involvement with the suspects was shot in the head at close range and a young woman was shot in the knee by a stray bullet.

“As determined so far, the shooters, seeking to hit their targets among the crowd, fired several times on public roads, putting the lives of countless people at risk, in addition to the two victims of the attempted murder”, highlighted Gomes.

The two victims survived despite their injuries. According to police, there were at least two shooters at the time of the events.

The Civil Police continues with investigations to fully elucidate the facts and identify the second person involved.
