Police from the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) arrested this Sunday (8) one of the suspects of participating in the attack on a base of a value carrier in the city of Guarapuava, Paraná, on April 17.
The arrest was carried out by police officers from the 5th Patrimônio Precinct, responsible for investigations into bank robberies. The team was investigating the activities of the wanted person who, according to the police, is specialized in robberies from banks and value transport companies, and began to make inquiries in the places that the suspect would frequent.
Anderson Parra Pereira, 39, was located on Rua Padre Manoel Bernardes, in Jardim Amanda, in the city of Hortolândia, in the region of Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo. According to the authorities, there was no reaction during the approach.
According to the police, Pereira had recent signs of pin implants in his face, an immobilized arm and bruises all over his body. Informally, he admitted to having been injured due to the overturn of the vehicle he was in – the accident happened while fleeing after the attack in Guarapuava.
At the time of arrest, the suspect had healing wounds. He told officials that he had recently had surgery on his face. The procedure fixed four plates and several pins in the chin and eye region. She also has an arm in a sling, due to a fracture in her left clavicle and right scapula. In addition to paralysis in the face, on the left side, among other various injuries.
Attack in Guarapuava and first suspect arrested
The day after the attack on the cash carrier, the first suspected participant was arrested by Paraná security forces. The man was a resident of the city of Guarapuava itself. According to investigations, he is linked to the logistical part of supplying weapons to the gang, which consisted of about 30 people.
At the time, the Secretary of State for Public Security (Sesp) confirmed that the twelve vehicles used in the action had already been located. Four of them were burned and used as barriers.
On the date of the attack, the city’s mayor, Celso Fernando Góes, stated that the gang did not have time to reach the company’s main safe.
