One of the men who robbed Dr. Roberto Kalil, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s doctor, this Tuesday morning (12), was arrested in Taboão da Serra. Kalil, who is also a presenter on CNN , was robbed in the Bela Vista neighborhood, central region of São Paulo, when he arrived to work at his office. Watch the bandits in action:
According to the Municipal Civil Guard, the man was found around 10:30 am, normally riding a motorcycle through the municipality. The assault against the doctor happened around 9:30 am. According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, two armed men approached the doctor in the parking lot of his private practice building.
After the approach, the duo fled on two motorcycles, taking Kalil’s wristwatch, a ring and sunglasses. The Armed Robbery and Assault Repression Group (Garra) of the Department of Strategic Police Operations (Dope) and the Military Police attended the scene after the robbery.
The case was registered as a robbery in the 78th Police District (Jardins), where investigations will continue. Roberto Kalil is also director of the Cardiology Center at Hospital Sírio-Libanês. In a statement, the hospital reported that there were no physical attacks and the doctor is well.
The suspect arrested in Taboão was taken to the police station to be interviewed by the police.
