Suspected of scamming “Good night Cinderella” is arrested in Rio

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested, on Thursday (1), Haina Rocha da Cruz, 19, suspected of involvement in A blow against a French tourist occurred in December 2024 in the Pedra do Sal region, one of the most frequented tourist spots by foreigners in the state capital.

The young woman, who worked as a call girl, was located in the Miguel Couto neighborhood of Belford Roxo, Baixada Fluminense. The arrest was carried out by agents of the Special Tourism Support Police Station (Deat), with the support of the 38th DP (Brás de Pina), in compliance with a Preventive arrest warrant for qualified theft and severe bodily injury.

According to investigations, Haina and two accomplices – one identified as Gabrielle and another still unidentified – met the tourist at Pedra do Sal. The trio would have taken the victim to a hotel in Copacabana, where the man was doped with a chemical, a practice known as “good night Cinderella” .

After losing consciousness, he was stolen and, according to his own report, thrown from a moving vehicle.

The victim was rescued and received medical attention at Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, presenting serious injuries. Investigators reported that, in the criminal action, the group took the cell phone, about $ 150 in kind, and did Bank transfers that totaled approximately R $ 50 thousand.

According to the Civil Police, Haina was already investigated in another procedure at the police station specializing in tourist crimes. After the arrest, it will be sent to the prison system and will be available to the court.

Police are still investigating to identify and locate the others involved in the crime.
