Four suspects were arrested after attacking and stealing bicycles, jewelry and cell phones from an elderly couple on Monday afternoon (29) in the city of São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo. According to the Military Police, the items were recovered.
The PM reported that the case was handled by teams from the Special Police Actions Battalion (Baep). The agents were called and began to pursue the suspects after the robbery, which occurred on the banks of Avenida Presidente Wilson.
Monitoring cameras helped identify the suspects and show the moment the group made up of four teenagers approached the couple on a bike path. In the video, it is possible to identify the moment when one of the suspects grabs a chain from the first cyclist.
Following the images, the woman's companion, who was right behind, loses his balance and falls. At this point, the suspects forcibly pull him off the bike, dragging the victim along the ground.
One of the victims, identified as Maria Cristina Morais, told police that she called the police shortly after the robbery and that officers managed to locate the suspects after a brief chase. She and her husband are doing well.
The case was presented at the Children and Youth Police Station of Santos/SP, where the group of teenagers remains at the disposal of the justice system.
