The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes ordered, on the afternoon of this Friday (30), the immediate suspension of X (formerly Twitter) throughout Brazil. The decision was made after the STF summoned the businessman Elon Musk owner of the social network, to appoint a new legal representative for the company in Brazil.
On social media, users are already lamenting the minister’s decision. “Goodbye Twitter” and “Thank you Twitter” are among the most commented topics on X himself.
To comply with the decision, the judge ordered the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) and companies that provide internet services in the country to be subpoenaed.
