Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria tested positive for covid-19 again today, the palace announced.
“The crown princess, who is fully vaccinated, has symptoms of constipation but otherwise feels well,” the palace statement said, adding that Victoria remained in solitary confinement at home, as did her family.
This is the second time in less than a year that the 45-year-old crown princess has been infected with the new coronavirus. In March 2021, her husband, Prince Daniel, was also diagnosed with covid-19.
Her parents, King Carl Gustav, 75, and Queen Sylvia, 78, who have also received three doses of the covid-19 vaccine, tested positive on Monday.
According to the National Health Service, 23,877 new cases of covid-19 were recorded in Sweden on January 5, more than double the peak of the previous wave in December 2020.
As of Friday, a total of 1,416,650 cases and 15,377 deaths had been recorded in the country of 10.4 million inhabitants.
