Karar Ramadan, known to the general Swedish public as “the masked rapper”, was killed in a shootout between gangs west of Gothenburg. “The police have launched a murder investigation. At the moment, no arrests have been made,” the press release points out. That killing was “connected to a gang dispute” and the rapper was known to police, a police spokeswoman told AFP. Photos released from the scene of the attack show a glass parking lot door riddled with bullets. Last month the well-known rapper was named the artist of the year in the hip-hop music category. His song titled “Sista Gang” (“Last time” in Swedish) has already been listened to 700,000 times on Spotify. The rapper garners about 1 million listens a month, according to the platform.
