Sweden dedicates a postage stamp to Greta Thunberg

Drawings of forests, swamps, agricultural landscapes, mountain places and Greta Thunberg, with her unmistakable yellow raincoat and her universally recognized environmental message. Is called Precious Nature (Natura Preziosa) the series of collectible stamps dedicated to ecological themes and realized in support of the 16 environmental quality objectives set by the Swedish government.
The Swedish postal agency PostNord presented them on its website, which sells them in its e-shop (the pack of 10 stamps costs 120 euros), testifying to the great attention that environmental issues have received in recent times, thanks also to the school strike launched by Greta for the climate and the Fridays for Future, which have stirred the spirits and drawn attention to the importance of adopting valid measures against global warming and climate change.

The stamps are hand drawn by the Swedish artist Henning Trollback and in the one dedicated to Greta, the activist is shown wearing a yellow raincoat, while looking out over a cliff and observing a swallow.

“This is the brand new Swedish stamp with Greta Thunberg, illustrated by my pen,” writes the author on his Instagram profile. «It is part of a series of stamps that show natural environments that we must commit to preserving, while fighting the threat of climate change“. The artist then adds: «I am honored to have received this important assignment and grateful for the attention it is getting. I hope it can serve to raise awareness of the importance of preserving nature ».
