Sweden: Expects to accept 76,000 Ukrainian refugees in the coming months

The most likely scenario for Sweden is to accept 76,000 Ukrainian refugees in the coming months in the wake of the Russian invasion, the Swedish Immigration Service announced today.

According to the service, the forecast is uncertain and includes three possible scenarios that differ – from 27,000 to 212,000 refugees from today to June.

Sweden is in the process of preparing sports facilities, warehouses and exhibition centers to house new refugees.

“The scenario for the largest number includes a prolonged and increased barbarism in the conflict and that the war will be transferred to the west of Ukraine. Unfortunately, we are seeing this at the moment,” said the head of the Service Michael Ribenvik in a press conference.
