A growing majority of Swedes are in favor of joining NATO, a poll showed today as officials in both Sweden and Finland consider whether Russia’s invasion of Ukraine should end decades of military neutrality.
A poll by Demoskop commissioned by Aftonbladet found that 57% of Swedes now support NATO membership, up from 51% in March. Those opposed to membership fell to 21% from 24% while those undecided fell to 22% from 25%.
The March poll was the first to show that a majority of Swedes support NATO membership.
