Sweden: Two dead after man falls from 7th floor to concert venue

Two people were killed and another was injured at a concert venue in the city Upsala of Sweden. A man fell from the 7th floor, falling on two spectators, police announced on Tuesday (2/11).

A thousand spectators had gathered at the concert venue Uppsala Concert & Congress, a modern multi-storey building, where a concert in honor of the emblematic Swedish pop band was planned ABBA.

“We received a call that a person who either jumped or fell from a great height into the concert hall in the center of Uppsala,” he told French Agency her police representative Upsala, Magnus Janson Clarin.

The foyer of the concert hall had an open space where this man fell from the 7th floor, falling on two other people. The person who fell and one of the two others who were hit were killed, while the third was injured.

The latter’s life was not in danger, he added Clarinet, who did not provide details about the identities of the victims as their relatives had not yet been informed. Police closed the room so as not to “lose any eyewitnesses”, but the premises were already deserted. “It’s too early to tell if a crime was committed,” he said Clarinet.

The tragic event happened just before 19:00 local time as spectators arrived. The concert was supposed to start at 19:30 but was canceled after the incident.
