The suffocating heat wave that gripped Brazil at the beginning of this week is expected to intensify in the center-south of the country in the coming days. Furthermore, the tendency is for the air in this area to become drier.
According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), a mass of hot and dry air will advance over part of the following states: Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. These conditions are expected to remain until early next week.
Among these states, Mato Grosso do Sul has stood out as one of the hottest places in the country. This Wednesday (13), the city of Três Lagoas (325 km from Campo Grande) recorded 39.7°C, the highest temperature in the country, according to Inmet.
