The robot was created by the young Swiss company UVeya. The tests are being carried out on Embraer aircraft of Helvetic Airways. They are co-organized with Dubai-based airport services company Dnata.
According to a UVeya spokesman, aircraft manufacturers will have to certify the new product. They are now studying the effect of UV radiation on upholstery, which can fade after repeated disinfection.
