Between gas bills, electricity supply and telephone: how much do households cost us each month? Probably a lot or perhaps too much, but is there a way to save and optimize costs? Undoubtedly there is no lack of advantageous commercial proposals, but it is important to know how to find them and above all to evaluate them by making a careful comparison.
On the subject, it is Switcho, an Italian startup founded in 2019, to want to support ad optimize the management of expenses related to Household utilities: in fact, by taking on the role of personal savings assistant, it would allow its users to save on average 293 euros per year and it would have already contributed to accumulating – among all customers – a total of 2 million euros in savings in the first 16 months of activity.
«Untangling the multitude of options available on the market for households is really complex and time-consuming. Provider rates are often unclear or difficult to find, while comparison portals bet everything on the promise of savings without verifying that this is really there. And then there is the bureaucracy issue, which discourages even the most scrupulous savers “, he explains Marco Tricarico, founder of the startup together with friends Redi vyshka e Francesco Laffi, and continues «With Switcho we start from the personalized analysis of the current consumption of each user: we read the bills, in particular the data relating to the cost of raw materials, and consequently we propose the option for which we are sure there will be savings».
In fact, thanks to an algorithm that would be able to analyze the common monthly expenses – such as electricity, gas, internet and telephony – of each family, the Switcho team helps to find the best offers based on the starting situation and takes care of carrying out all the bureaucratic activities required to carry out precisely lo switch: «The algorithm is able to extract from any bill those parameters necessary for the comparison between all the elements of the current tariff and those of the new offers that we are going to propose. Once this reference cost has been obtained, it is multiplied by the annual volumes present in the bill, quantifying the savings. The extraction logic of the current tariff is our exclusive: no operator on the market has this characteristic. The new offers are entered manually in our database on the basis of the economic conditions that our partners send us shortly before the deadline and we carry out a scrupulous check on the documents they send us to be sure to represent them correctly. The proposition of the best offers, on the other hand, takes place automatically on the basis of the estimated savings and the possible request, by our customer, to view only green offers »says Tricarico.
Available for free from smartphones, tablets and computers, the platform requires the insertion of some data that can be retrieved directly from the latest bills received and, if necessary, to provide the credentials to be able to change the supply; for this last operation, the team of “Customer Happiness“I will take care of facilitating all the necessary activities:”A dedicated team takes care of the bureaucracy and the administrative part on behalf of the client. There are also cases – about 10% – in which the user’s situation is already optimized: when this happens, we obviously tell him, thus advising not to switch. We are the only ones to do this on the market, precisely because our corporate mission is to save our customers »reveals the founder. Among the future projects, however, it is expected the launch of new solutions to save on insurance, mortgages, Pay TV and streaming services such as Netflix or Spotify, for example.
