He Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Switzerland Three tenths have been moderated in the year -on -year reading of April, standing at 0% from 0.3% in March, as published by the Office of Statistics of the Transalpino country. This is the lowest inflation level seen in Switzerland since March 2021.
At a monthly level, the CPI remains unchanged in 0%below the 0.2% expected by the market.
According to the statement of the Swiss Statistics Office, the stability of the index with respect to the previous month was due to opposing trends that, in general, were compensated. The prices of clothing and vegetables increased, as were those of air transport and personal care products. On the other hand, the prices of hotels and complementary accommodation decreased, as well as those of the mountain railways and the national tour packages.
Franco Swiss reaction
The Swiss Franco has dropped slightly after the publication against the euro and the dollar, between 10 and 15 pips, respectively. At the time of writing, the USD/CHF quotes about 0.8267, winning a slight 0.05% daily, while the EUR/CHF operates around 0.9362, rising 0.20% in the day.
