Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kats warned today that Israel would respond by military force if the Syrian government does not protect the Druzes, as interfaith conflicts near Damascus in recent days have left more than 100 dead. “If the attacks on the Drussians continue and the Syrian regime fails to prevent them, Israel will respond with significant power,” Kats said in a statement by his ministry.
