SYRIZA calls for support measures for the focus

By Niki Zorba

Yesterday -new- record in the increase of cases that brings acceleration in the implementation of the measures initially announced by the government for after the New Year, led SYRIZA again to a sideline on the staff of the prime minister.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been chosen in Koumoundourou anyway from the beginning, to have him in the “frame” of responsibilities and not only for the pandemic. Yesterday, all the “hammers” in SYRIZA, led by its president, hit the prime minister and the government for the frightening increase in the spread of cases in the community. Alexis Tsipras, in fact, with two comments on social networks, called for the immediate implementation of measures proposed by his party, characterizing the government as a whole too little for the critical moments.

He also referred to the recent one his own meeting with the expert scientists, during which the predictions they had conveyed to him were gloomy.

Focus support and measures

The information that today’s announcements of the government to accelerate the implementation of restrictive measures in the restaurant before the New Year, led to an intervention – also through social networks, of the Head of Development of SYRIZA, Alexis Haritsis.

The MP from Messinia asked for support from employees and catering companies, describing it as “unthinkable” not to take measures in this direction.

The financial support of the companies affected by the new restrictions was requested by the “headquarters” of Koumoundourou, through the representative of SYRIZA, Nasos Iliopoulos:

“Every restrictive measure must be combined with a corresponding measure of financial support, such as measures in catering. Otherwise we are talking about a policy that plunges thousands of families into poverty,” was his characteristic disgust (Ionian TV).

Regarding the measures requested by SYRIZA to be implemented immediately, there is no “update”. These concern mass tracking by prescription tests, strengthening of the NSS and pre-hospital care, change in the protocols that apply to the operation of schools, implementation of teleworking at the highest possible level in order to decongest the means of public transport.

“Why did it take a month to proceed – even to a vague – teleworking measure? Why did it take so long for the transport situation to go away? The schools, after the holidays, will open the way they closed “Will we have classes of 29 students with 15,000 and 20,000 cases per day?” Nassos Iliopoulos asked, addressing the Government.
