“The” inadvertent “violation of a fundamental provision of the Constitution, which even a first-year student should be aware of, regarding parliamentary immunity, raises deep concerns but also reasonable questions”, SYRIZA-PS states in a statement, after its press release. Prosecution stating that “by obvious mistake” the summons was sent to MP Pavlos Polakis and that the summons has already been withdrawn.
“We want to believe,” the main opposition party said, “that the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office will, of course and immediately, conduct an investigation to determine under what circumstances this particular prosecutor did something unprecedented for the post-government periodicals.”
It is recalled that earlier the Secretary of the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS, Olga Gerovasili, had sent a letter-report on the issue to the Speaker of Parliament, as well as a report to the prosecutor of the Supreme Court.
