What mediated from that interview of Alexis Tsipras in mid-December, in which he signaled the “tender” treatment of KINAL under his new leadership, through his disgust: “My opponent is Kyriakos Mitsotakis” and not the progressive forces, until the day before yesterday when the first skirmishes between SYRIZA and KINAL officially started?
The launch of Omicron, the “opportunity” for Koumoundourou to push the government further to manage the pandemic and the “dust” that arose in the political dialogue on the PCR, the rapid tests, the tracking in any case that they ask the official opposition to be secured by the government in the community, at zero cost to the Citizen.
KINAL had come out early, asking to enter the tests. The other day, he “invoiced” and specifically his proposal: up to 7 euros in rapid and up to 40 in molecular.
The government, through Adonis Georgiadis, announced the ceiling on molecular tests at 47 euros. It followed against SYRIZA on the occasion of the cost of the tests in Cyprus where it is significantly smaller but in this case, the “shrapnel” also took KINAL.
Koumoundourou initially faced KINAL’s proposal for molecular tests at 40 euros with joking comments and leaks in a close circle of interlocutors and, however, not in public:
“If the only difference between the Movement for Change and New Democracy is that one wants a ceiling of 47 euros and the other 40, if their difference is only seven euros, this is a discussion that does not concern us, let them find each other “Because it does not concern the citizens either”, a party source commented in Capital.gr.
Counters for molecular tests
Then, of course, the quarrels and reproaches began to take on a name.
The head of the Interior Department of SYRIZA Costas Zachariadis, described publicly, through social networks, “incomprehensible” the proposal of KINAL:
“The government has set a ceiling on the maximum price of PCR tests at € 47, up from the € 60 that was in force. with government backs?
The proposal of KINAL is incomprehensible, for 40 € price in PCR and not prescription. Its leader as an MEP is well aware of what is happening in other European countries, especially those with progressive governments. They prescribe the test for FREE
The free prescription test, which should be adopted in Greece, is not only for financial reasons, but for public health reasons. The doctor prescribes it where it is really needed. This way, the citizens will not run in panic, without information! ”
Free, it does not exist, will be paid by the Greek taxpayer through the insurance funds, argued, Odysseas Konstantinopoulos, MP from Arcadia and one of the close associates of Nikos Androulakis, explaining the rationale of the KINAL proposal:
“Some say all tests are free (rapid-pcr).
We all know, it does not exist for free, the Greek taxpayer will just pay them through the insurance funds.
Today, “free” tests are performed, we proposed to multiply the points and extend the schedule so that the really weak can have the opportunity to take free tests without queues.
We criticize because the government has not procured the molecular control machines for PCR in the two years and so the District Hospital produces results in 48 or 72 hours (it is sent to Athens) and so the tracking has no value.
In the private sector, we suggested a maximum price of € 7 for rapid and € 40 for pcr.
I think you understand that even prescribing (free) without a maximum price will be the party of the century!
Rapids in the private sector started from 20 € + and pcr 100 € + …
When there was a maximum price in rapid 10 €, in many pharmacies the examination was done from 5-10 €, if the maximum was 7 € then we would probably have from 4-7 €, with respect to the professionals to have a small profit!
The same would apply to pcr with a maximum price of € 40 from € 60 in the private sector.
The price that came out, based on the private sector in other European countries that the table has.
The Left says everything for free and sends the bill to the taxpayer, the Right supports high ceilings for the benefit of large medical groups.
Social democracy is a different political concept, supporting the weak, avoiding notoriety and saving resources for the NSS.
Everyone decides … “.
