Parliamentary question on the initiative of Kyriaki Malama, Member of Parliament for Halkidiki and Assoc. Macedonia-Thrace, 36 deputies of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance submitted, in relation to the reports that speak of a request for financing of Hellenic Gold from the Recovery Fund, amounting to 500 million euros, with simultaneous borrowing from the Greek banking system another 500 million , to start mining in Skouries.
As pointed out in the question, it is scandalous to finance with the money of the Recovery Fund a company that systematically and confirmed by court decisions, shows non-compliance with obligations that it undertakes, at a time when it shows accumulated losses over the last five years, over 500 million euros . In this context, the deputies of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance call on the government to clarify whether such a request has been submitted and whether they intend to allocate money from the Recovery Fund for Greek Gold.

Subject: Is half a billion euros being prepared for the scandalous financing of Hellenic Gold by the Recovery Fund?
According to financial press reports, Hellenic Gold is said to have applied for inclusion in the resources of the Recovery Fund, requesting financing of 500 million euros, with a simultaneous loan of another 500 million euros from the Greek banking system. The company, which according to official data appears to have recorded negative financial years for at least the last 5 years, is reportedly seeking funding for the operation to launch the Skouria mining front, for which , as its representatives have repeatedly stated, is seeking funding and resources.
Because it is scandalous to finance with the money of the Recovery Fund a company that systematically and confirmed by court decisions, shows non-compliance with obligations that it conventionally undertakes.
Because it is scandalous to subsidize a company that has shown losses of more than 500 million euros in the last five years.
Asked by Messrs. Ministers:
1. Has a request for financing of “Hellenic Gold SA” been submitted by the Recovery Fund?
2. Do they intend to allocate amounts of the Recovery Fund to the company in question with a guarantee from the Greek state?
