The motion of censure was submitted because we had to express social anger, it was not time for a programmatic reason, top SYRIZA executives claim, giving an explanation for the choice of the content of the speeches of the party president and his deputies.
The complete absence of a program speech from the interventions of the official opposition in the Parliament during the three-day debate in the Parliament on the motion of no confidence of SYRIZA towards the Government was obvious. As was evident the reluctance to fend off with the Government over plans and (counter) proposals, opera showed from the beginning that the strategic choice of Koumoundourou’s leadership was a “war”.
The same circles point out that from now on SYRIZA will return to a programmatic, structural opposition to the government, within the framework of the doctrine of “responsible but militant opposition”, which it denies has abandoned.
However, such an intention is not confirmed in practice for the time being, as in the debate in Parliament on the new Development Law, a field for which SYRIZA has been theoretically preparing for 2.5 years now, with plans, elaborations and proposals, was the choice of the main opposition party. the show to “steal” for two consecutive days, the quarrels of Pavlos Polakis with the presidency and the Novartis case.
The return to the agenda of scandals
The return of SYRIZA to the “Novartis” agenda, which it paid for – among other things – in the 2019 national elections, is a paradox.
Of course, they do not agree with Koumoundourou with this approach hence and seek polarization with the Government on this story as well. They demand, for example, with insistence (with the main spokesman the “responsible for scandals” of the party, Pavlos Polakis) the submission of the archiving act of the case by Adonis Georgiadis.
From the discussion on the new development law, however, SYRIZA shone through its absence. By his choice, to be precise, to skip the issue and turn the discussion into a two-day “balcony” of conflict between the MP from Chania, with the chairman Charalambos Athanassiou and the president, Costas Tassoulas. With the N.D., in general, that is.
Koumoundourou, however, insists on her own reading, according to which – obviously – and there is a profit, blaming the two-day incidents with the Polakis show on the government, talking about “distraction”, in order to change the agenda from the three-day debate to Parliament.
During the same reading of the Koumoundourian circles, “Mr. Tassoulas emptied Mr. Athanassiou and gave the floor normally to Mr. Polakis, after yesterday’s outcry that for the first time in the history of the post-colonial period a member of parliament was forbidden to speak in Parliament because they did not want to hear information about the Novartis scandal “.
