SYRIZA: The Political Council is meeting for the ‘letter’ of the Conference

A new party teleconference is taking place early today at noon in SYRIZA. Not with current issues or with the disputed Dawn, this time.

SYRIZA and the party body of 41 members, which is meeting under Alexis Tsipras, are called to resolve issues concerning the “letter” of its third congress. Issues that are already pending from previous meetings of the PS, important enough for the course and the party “health” of all: Conference texts and party statutes in view of the Congress.

The “letter” of the conference will obviously reflect the … “spirit”: The decision for the formal and ideological enlargement of the new SYRIZA must be reflected in the texts, is the message of the majority. Our identity messages should not be blurred, we are a party of the Left, says the internal party minority, of Umbrella.

Given that this debate began in this party organ Christmas Eve wherever it was decided to exist attempt to “synthesize” the views and remarks of the two sides, today’s meeting is not held in “uncharted waters”. It has been preceded by fermentation and consultation.

Parallel worlds

However, the climate is already tense inside SYRIZA (It has not been a week since episodic meeting for the future therefore, despite the general intentions that SYRIZA’s party masses are not a source of negative comments and impressions about introversion and “slaughter” of its political opponents, no one can safely say that there will be no tensions.

Especially from the moment when members (individually and not the whole Trend) of the Umbrella, charges the majority that it has a plan to de-ideologize the party in order to “turn” it more easily to the Center and at the same time, members of the majority, accuse them from the left, of fixing the party and wanting to “sabotage” enlargement.

In the above, Alexis Tsipras, for the time being follows a “composition” tactic, as described by his interlocutors. Not by conflict but by composition he will try to soften the corners within the party. The “hot episodes” will not disappear, as the leadership of Koumoundourou and the residents of the party Jerusalem know. However, attempts are made to “extinguish” them as suddenly as the hearths of quarrels light up.

SYRIZA is not a nice atmosphere (although the prospect of early elections and the “signal” Tsipras: The goal is to oust Mitsotakis, they work aggressively to a degree). On the other hand, when was the official opposition party a nice, solid group to be stirred up now by contradictions in internal goals?
