SYRIZA: They are running for the polls – The strategy ‘de-dramatization of the fakes’ and St. Kouloglou

By Niki Zorba

Alexis Tsipras believes that the prime minister may seriously call elections in the Spring. In other words, the election alarm that Koumoundourou sounded is not pretentious, although it works completely in support of his plans to finally end the pending with the 3rd SYRIZA congress (April 14-17) and with concise procedures.

In any case, the official opposition has no room to crawl for long: In the third year of the ND government and since the moment it has called for elections since the end of December, it must, if not, at least look combative.

Final decisions about the time of the ballot box are known to SYRIZA that have not yet been taken by the Prime Minister: Regardless of the suggestions he receives in favor of early ballot boxes or others to the contrary (the exhaustion of four years), aKyriakos Mitsotakis himself will decide who should be born in the end. And … the end has not come yet. (Some information suggests that the prime minister is finalizing his plan – at least in terms of the possibility of a spring ballot – at the end of this month).

The President of SYRIZA, however, in contrast to previous phases where he again spoke of “Mitsotakis escape”, at this juncture indeed considers that there are conditions, causes and signs that he can attempt an election surprise.

Kouloglou is also … optimism as a duty

Recently, Mr. Tsipras wrestled with his certainty that the ND will be the second party at the polls, directly opposing the poll reality. Does the majority of its executives share this optimism? They have … a duty to do so and to say “yes”. Public at least. Of course, in discussions and fermentations there are many who hesitate to support the “good scenario” for their party and express serious concern about whether estimates are valid that SYRIZA at the finish line and just before the polls will gain a fast pace. or if this whole narrative is a product of political voluntarism.

The others, the “optimistic”, use the atmosphere that prevails in the tours that Alexis Tsipras makes in the neighborhoods of Athens and the Region: Damage!

In any case, SYRIZA has decided that they will not leave various “fakes” by ordinary suspects to spoil their atmosphere and their good history. They follow a strategy of dramatizing defeatist reports and disagreements. The (non) reaction to the public reports (SKAI) of their MEP, Stelios Kouloglou, is absolutely indicative.

In a free (but faithful rendition of what he said) Mr. Kouloglou took care to “undo” SYRIZA’s basic narrative: No elections at this juncture because it would be an adventure, SYRIZA will not be the first to cut the ballot box.

That is, a few twenty-four hours after the intervention of his leader in Parliament with which called for elections even earlier than May (which May, do them now, he said) and denounced that the ND is already a second party, Mr. Kouloglou came out and answered publicly to Alexis Tsipras: What you say does not apply.

Koumoundourou neither “lit” nor “extinguished”. He countered the incident as not happening. The most “heavy” thing that was heard about her MEP from competent sources, is: “Slowly do not deal with Kouloglou, slowly do not make him a hero”.
